PROJECT RTS・EST. 2020

Helping injured people
get back to their sport,
with a clear direction

We only do strength training. Project RTS was founded in 2020. Our coaches have a sports medicine background from Kaohsiung Medical University and have trained 800+ people after ACL surgery, from before the operation all the way back to the court. They can coach in basic English.

Why we started

Outside the clinic,
a room full of people with no direction

In graduate school, we noticed the waiting rooms were full: people on crutches, people limping. They wanted to get back to their sport but couldn’t, and didn’t know what to do next.

Once surgery has fixed the structure, the rest is about strength training. But back then, Taiwan had few resources for this, and people relied on word of mouth in Facebook groups.

So we started Project RTS. You bring the effort. We bring the plan and the direction.

Our standards

Medical school background

All our coaches studied sports medicine

Department of Sports Medicine, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University: anatomy with donor bodies, kinesiology, sport psychology. We understand how the body is built, and how it feels to be injured.

Hiring and coach development

A high bar to join, a clear system once in

We only hire sports medicine graduates with at least 1–3 years of experience coaching strength training for knees and legs. New coaches follow a full coaching process: from injury through before and after surgery, what the coach does at each stage, each client’s limits, and the standard for moving on to the next stage.

Working with doctors

Doctor referrals and shared education

Two coaches with master’s degrees in sports medicine plan the strength training and talk with doctors. Our partner doctors have sports medicine backgrounds and understand strength training; they refer people to us after surgery, and we make educational videos together.

What we believe

With the wrong direction, more strength training is wasted effort

1

Not moving isn’t the answer

Your knee has to be trained back. Rest alone won’t do it.

2

Time passing doesn’t mean you’re ready

We confirm with data and move on only when your ability is there.

3

Surgery is only the first step

Surgery fixes the structure for 10–20 points; strength training brings function back to 90–100.

4

Quality over quantity

With the right direction, every rep counts.

5

No rushing ahead

At each stage, we first check that the strength and control from the last one are there.

6

Together with doctors

We meet our partner doctors regularly. Doctors handle the structure; we handle the strength training.

Partner doctors

Doctors handle the structure. We handle the strength training.

We regularly share our clients’ progress with our partner doctors. They do the surgery well; we train your ability back with strength training.
